Education Committee

The Education & Workforce Development Committee works to utilize the resources and talents of the Chamber, Chamber Members and the local business community to provide opportunities and avenues for educational and leadership development for people of Dahlonega and Lumpkin County.

Chair: Davis Palmour (Dahlonega Healing Arts)

Meetings: The Education & Workforce Development Committee meets the 2nd Tuesday of each month at 2:30pm in the Chamber conference room. Meetings may not be held over the summer.

2016 Action Items

  • Identify funding challenges and work to rally the community to support and fund sound economic principles that will lead to graduates who are ready to go into an educated workforce and/or postsecondary study
  • Research the sciences of child growth and development and their impact on learning, and make recommendations to the Lumpkin County Board of Education and the Superintendent, as needed
