Dear Friends, This week Senator Isakson could not be in Washington, D.C. for the debate and votes on the health care reconciliation legislation. Senator Isakson was hospitalized in Atlanta on Monday, March 22, after complaining of feeling ill and being dehydrated. He was admitted to Northside Hospital, and doctors diagnosed him with a bacterial infection. On Thursday, the senator’s doctors felt that his condition had improved enough that he could go home and continue his recovery there. Dr. Steven Marlowe, one of Senator Isakson’s attending physicians at Northside, said, "Senator Isakson has really made great progress this week, and we are allowing him to go home today on the condition that he do nothing but rest and recover for at least the next week.” Senator Isakson and his family are very appreciative of all the prayers and good wishes they have received this week. What’s on Tap? Senator Isakson's recovery at home will coincide with the Senate's Easter recess. For the next two weeks, the Senate will be in recess in observance of the Easter holiday. Our next e-newsletter will be sent on Friday, April 16. |
