The Georgia Department of Labor (GDOL) works closely with the Lumpkin County Development Authority to build a world-class workforce and attract more and better jobs to the county. We serve Lumpkin County employers and jobseekers through a new state-of-the-art Career Center in nearby Gainesville. This new facility provides employment-related services and access to vocational rehabilitation services. Services aimed at preparing the workforce to meet the ever-changing job market needs are retraining options, job-search assistance, and special workshops on career options, resume writing and interviewing skills.

The Department of Labor recently partnered with the Lumpkin County Development Authority and Windstream to provide Georgia JobTV on cable television. This service allows television viewers in Lumpkin County to search for jobs and obtain valuable career information from the convenience of their own homes.
