The mission of the Dahlonega-Lumpkin County Chamber of Commerce and Convention and Visitors is to be a great place to live, play, visit and do business. We do this in many ways. We advocate member services, economic development, business growth, government affairs, community development, and work closely with the Lumpkin County Developmental Authority, Downtown Development Authority, and Downtown Merchants Association. The Dahlonega-Lumpkin County Chamber of Commerce and Convention and Visitors Bureau is looking toward the future and is focusing on our mission. We are proud of the more than 550 business members who support our community at large, and we will continue to be a significant part of this warm and friendly culture. Lumpkin County is a special place in the Northeast Georgia Mountains. It is at the end of GA-400 where future development will open many doors of opportunity and challenge. As a major destination place where more than 14 major festivals take place each year we are a mixture of tourism and light manufacturing. In our community, you will find an abundance of cultural and recreational opportunities, a low cost of living, a commendable education system, exceptional healthcare facilities and a friendly hometown atmosphere. If you are looking for a place to call home, Lumpkin County and Dahlonega can accommodate your style of living including 55+ communities, upscale country club communities and charming neighborhoods. Our Northeast Georgia Mountains offer beautiful vista’s and include fishing, hiking trails, golf, gold panning, and waterfalls. Dahlonega being the site of the first Gold Rush in 1828 has a State Park Gold Museum that is the site of the oldest courthouse in Georgia. North Georgia College and State University is one of six senior military colleges graduating over seventy second lieutenants a year for the U. S. Army. The Mike Cottrell School of Business is becoming one of the top business schools in the State of Georgia. Explore our website and find out why this is becoming one of the most sought after areas in Georgia to relocate as a family or senior. Amy Booker |
