Q: What is a Chamber of Commerce?
A: A Chamber of Commerce is a non-profit, membership-based organization committed to economic and community development as well as supporting and improving the business climate and quality of life in our region. At the Dahlonega-Lumpkin Chamber and Visitors Bureau, our mission is to grow the economy, attract visitors, advocate for all businesses, and develop leaders to promote the welfare of the community.
Q: Where is the Chamber located?
A: We are located in Historic Downtown Dahlonega across from the Fudge Factory, at 13 South Park Street, Dahlonega, GA 30533. Our membership offices are on the second floor, above the Visitors Center.
Q: What are your hours of operation?
A: We are open Monday thru Friday from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm.
Q: What does membership cost?
A: The cost of annual membership depends on the type and size of the business. You can download our application to see a full listing of annual membership fees.
Q: When does my membership begin?
A: Your membership begins on the day that your application is completed and your membership dues are paid.
Q: Does the Chamber help with ribbon cuttings and grand opening events?
A: Yes, our Member Services Department will be more than happy to schedule a time and date for your Ribbon Cutting event. The Chamber will bring the ribbon and “giant pair” of ceremonial scissors to help with the celebration.
Q: Who can attend chamber events?
A: There are many chamber events and programs that are open to members only as a benefit of their investment. However, other networking events are open to the community. There may be a different cost to attend.
Q: Does the Chamber share its email list?
A: The Chamber does not share the email addresses of our members. Members are able to purchase an electronic mailing address list or pre-printed mailing labels for a nominal fee.
Q: How do I find out if a business is a chamber member?
A: Our membership directory can be accessed through the Chamber website and also through the Dahlonega.org website. You may search by business category, keyword, or company name. You may also call the Chamber at (706) 864-3711.
Q: If I have a complaint about an area business, should I send it to the chamber?
A: The Dahlonega-Lumpkin County Chamber & Visitors Bureau is not an official authority to report business conduct. Anyone desiring to file a formal complaint will be directed to the Better Business Bureau in Atlanta, Georgia.
